Extra

I was about 12 years old when I read my first manga, and I was captivated by the drawing style and the way the comic was designed. I practiced and practiced for years until I found a style that I enjoyed drawing! I love illustrating, painting, and creating digital artwork! Manga has been my calling, and I would love to publish one someday! J

Interview

1. Would you rather be a cannonball or a drag queen/king?
Cannon ball. They can break through walls. :D

2. How old are you?
19

3. What's the funniest thing that has ever happened to you?
Many funny things have happened to me, but at present, I cannot remember any of them!

4. On a scale of 1-10 with 1 being the craziest and 10 being the calmest, where would you go?
Probably 8.

5. If you could be anyone, who would you be?
Violet from the Incredibles. She can turn invisible and create shield barriers! :)

6. Where did you get the idea for the username you are currently using?
I like colours, so I randomly picked blue, and then there was light.

7. How close would you say you are on achieving your goals?
About as close as Earth is to the Sun. ...I've got a ways to go. -_-

8. Name your favourite commercial.
Uuuh, where do I begin? I'm not sure I like commercials that much, but I always like the ones that make me laugh. Trailers for movies are fun to watch too.

9. What would be one phrase that identifies you?
Night Owl.

10. If you could have any super power you want, what would it be?
Be able to speak and understand all languages!

11. What is your lucky number? Do you consider 13 unlucky?
I like 8 and 6. I don't really consider 13 unlucky.

12. Name a few pet peeves.
-The sound of pouring coffee (it’s really awkward, for some reason!)
-Really hot-headed people who refuse listen to anyone else.
-Drivers who don't signal.
-Really really lame catchphrases.

13. If you can rename yourself, what would it be?
Sora Adelina Isabella.

14. Do you believe that a 4th grader and a teacher can fall in love and get engaged in real life?
Not really... Maybe in manga, but it’s incredibly unlikely in real life! :P

15. Do you think Inuyasha should continue? Do you even watch Inuyasha?
Yes, I have watched Inuyasha, and I do enjoy it! But the fact that the story line has barely progressed throughout the whole series makes me wonder if it would never end if there was a continuation… so, no, I think they should just wrap it up, let Kagome and Inuyasha win and call it done. :D

16. If given the opportunity, would Satoshi kiss Daisuke on the lips?
I really hope not. He seems like the kind of dude who would, tho...

17. Would you press a button that would give you 50000 dollars at the expense of the death of someone you don't know?
NEVAR! 0_o that would be awful! The guilt!

18. Do you think the guy who plays Harry Potter is too macho to play him?
Maybe... although the guy who plays him is pretty close to how I imagined him.

19. Assuming you had a baby, would you name it Shamalamadingdong, or Michael Jackson?
Given the choice between the two, probably Michael J. (...Shamalamadingdong?!? :D Lol)

20. Roses are red, violets are blue. I was murdered, was it by you?
IT WAS THE MAFIA!

MANGA RELATED:

1. What are some great tips you can share about drawing?
Study real-life anatomy. Go to public places and draw people (discreetly). Practice as often as you can! :)

2. When did you first start to draw manga?
When I was 13, I suppose.

3. Name the greatest influence on your manga.
Fruits Basket probably encouraged me to create my own manga comic. Up till then, I was just drawing characters.

4. Has DREAM been helpful to you in any way?
Oh, yes! Now I have deadlines that will make me work harder! And you guys are so encouraging! Thank You, DREAM! :D

5. What was the first manga you ever bought for yourself?
I can't really remember, but I think it was Fruits Basket. It was the first major series I was hooked on. I buy all my own manga now, unless it’s a gift! :)

6. Name the pens you use for drawing manga and how you use them. If you ink digitally, name the sizes and types of brushes you use and how you use them.
I use Sakura multiliner pens, sizes 0.1 to 2, and occasionally a nib pen. I use the thickest ones for frames, and the thinnest ones for hair and background details. I also ink digitally: I scan in a pencil drawing, and adjust the Levels to make it darker. I occasionally scan an inked drawing (much cleaner than pencil).

7. How long does it take you to do one page from planning to toning and lettering?
Forever.

8. What is the average length of your mangas?
Hmmm… I like to make my stories kinda long… probably at least 5 chapters, about 30 pages each. Enough for 1 volume.

9. After this manga, what type of manga would you like to draw next?
I was thinking of a more supernatural story... where the characters have some sort of abnormal powers. :D I have way too many dramas!

10. What inspired you to draw manga?
The fact that I enjoyed reading it so much! It’s a wonderful medium, and it can make you excited, scared, sad, and happy! Manga comics are so beautifully drawn, and I was like: "I wanna draw like that."

11. When did you first start to draw manga?
I was 13. It kinda stunk at the beginning, though! :D lol.

12. Who do you say gave you the most support while drawing manga?
My little sister! I always ask her to test-read my manga to make sure things make sense!

13. Do you want to draw manga as a living?
Heck, yeah! :D ~my calling...~ (tear)...

14. Do you prefer traditional or computerized when it comes to coloring?
I love both. They’re so different, and each gives a wonderful effect! Computerized is less work for me though, and it's faster! I need to be faster.

15. Have you ever tried to promote your manga in any way? Name some please.
Not yet… I'm to embarrassed! >///<

16. Was there ever a period of time where you completely stopped drawing manga for any reason?
Not really. Sometimes I skip a week here and there, 'cause of school.

17. Do you usually know the ending of your manga before you begin? Do you enjoy knowing/not knowing the ending?
Yeah, I do. Knowing the ending gives me some assurance that I'm going to finish it! It workas as a template for me! There’s one story, though, that I have no idea how it's going to end, and that will be fun to do! :)

18. Out of all your series, which one do you feel closest to? Please describe it in a few sentences.
This is a harsh question! I feel close to any character that I know very well (their past, their personality, etc.) Umm, I think it would be Spellbound. It's about two witches who are twins, one is gentle and kind, and the other is a moody badass. :) They meet 3 guys (Naruhiko, Kenji, and Yasuo) who have magical abilities too, and their relationships with each other are priceless! I love them all to death! :D <3 <3 <3

19. Have you ever done a doujinshi? Which series was it based on?
No... I should...

20. Which of your characters do you like the most?
Hmm… Probably Roy, Peter, Jayden, Miyo, Kyomi, Yasu, Kenji and Naru! I can't choose just one! >.<
